Screws Get Loose - Those Darlins

this song is so damn fun, and also i’m pretty sure it’s catered so specifically to me that when i first heard it it blew my mind and then i laughed alot and had to rewind the song so i could listen to it over again. 

it’s hell bent girl group doo-wop pop and the lyrics are snarky and make me giggle.

those darlins are really blowing up and if you like this kind of shit you should really check out Hollows, a chicago girl group with the same aesthetic (that are pretty brilliant live). michael & i saw them open for Cults at daytrotter on the MOST ROMANTIC NIGHT OF OUR LIVES. 

oberhofer - i could go

seeing brad oberhofer open for twin sister and the morning benders on tuesday (the latter two i couldn’t give a shit about), i am fucking excited. i am decently sure that he is the love of my life. and this song takes me back mentally to driving and screaming and night time in iowa (specifically driving home from rock island, illinois, after seeing cults and/or tennis do their daytrotter sessions, with michael), and sometimes when living far away from home it’s really nice to be able to listen to a song and feel like you’re home.
